When we are young, we all have dreams of what we want to become. Astronaut, archeologist, firefighter, fighter pilot are some of the grandiose few. As we start to get older, our priorities begin to shift due to living expenses, kids, or other outside factors. Our dreams of flying that F18 for living slowly begin to diminish. Let’s be honest with ourselves, not all of us will be able to obtain the dreams we have as kids. However, when one door closes, another opens.
All of a sudden I found myself in the corporate world. I took the path that everyone is supposed to take. The pay was good, company reputable, what more could someone want? Well, I think deep down inside, we all want something more (and that’s ok!). However, at the same time, we have to be realistic. Car payments and mortgages don’t pay themselves. So I began to think, what could I do where I can still keep my job, create a mobile app, and the business revolves around something I love?
One Saturday morning while camping with my folks it dawned on me. What about an app that enables campers and private landowners to connect!? iCampSavvy was born! My folks had been saying how they had to get reservations months in advance (I have experienced the same when trying to camp at any National Park). Why should camping have to be this difficult? The whole point of camping is to go back to basics. Just because one campground doesn’t have enough room, doesn’t mean it should bar others from enjoying the great outdoors.
For months, a few hours after work each day and on the weekends, I began plotting out what I wanted the app to look like. I thought of every single detail, process flow, payment structure, color scheme, everything. It was finally time to turn this dream into a reality (and at the same time, still keep my day job – I have to pay for the app somehow right?).
Now it was time to begin interviewing developers. There were so many out there to choose from, each claiming to be the best. However, I wanted to work with someone who shared the same passion as I did about iCampSavvy. I didn’t want to feel like part of a meat factory. I got the impression from so many developers that they just crank out as many apps as they can and are more concerned about the short term instead of the long. Then I met Raj from Bitcot. Within a few months, my dream was no longer a dream, but a reality! We now have a fully functional app on the Apple App store as well as in Android Google Play.
I had never created an app before and didn’t quite know what to expect. Fortunately for us, BitCot was there every step of the way. He listened to the idea, reviewed the documents created, provided sound advice, and was able to develop a beautiful app that was also cost-effective. During the development process, with BitCot’s level of involvement, you would think that BitCot was part of the iCampSavvy direct team (and indeed, he was!).
Now that I know what it is like to work with BitCot, it is impossible to imagine using anyone else. The iCampSavvy team is proud to be partners with BitCot for the long term. When it comes time to expand the iCampSavvy brand with other applications and enhancements, you can be sure that it will be using the BitCot team! When you are ready to start perusing your dream, don’t waste your time with other developers, call BitCot first and make your dream a reality.
Good or bad, we’d love to hear your thoughts. Find us on Twitter (@Bitcot) or write into [email protected]
Thank You,
